Presley's Birthday Party

For Presley's 3rd birthday we had a Royal Birthday Party. We made a castle out of refrigerator and washer/dryer boxes. It took up the entire living room, but luckily was enough fun that we didn't need much else.

The cake was a castle, too. And Presley loved it. Not like last year, when she was actually kind of afraid of the cake I made. : )

We also had some crafts. For some odd reason, I thought it would be a good idea to give preschoolers an unlimited amount of glitter.

For Halloween this year, Presley was Dora and Kara was Boots.

They were very cute!

And our alternate costume when the Boots costume was a little bit warm - 1980's aerobic instructor. : )

6 months!

FIVE Months!

Although it seems like I was just posting the picture of her at 4 months, it is already time for another birthday! And since anything in the hands goes into the mouth, Presley was sweet enough to help me hold her 5 month sign. They are both doing good. We are enjoying the cooler weather.

Fort Worth Stockyards

A few weeks ago, we decided to visit the Fort Worth Stockyards

This is a picture of the girls with the "herd" that they use for the daily cattle drives.

This is the only horse we're going to be riding for a while.

Every sweet little cowgirl needs a pink cowboy hat!

The cows are really pretty close when they come through the streets for the cattle drive. Presley enjoyed it, but you didn't have to tell her twice to stand back.

Four Months!

We took some quick pictures of Kara for her 4 month birthday! She is doing good, growing bigger each day. We are in the 80 and 90th percentiles for her weight and her height. She loves to laugh and discover new things. She started rolling over a couple of weeks ago, but she likes to do that in her bed when no one is watching - we just find her position switched. : ) Presley is still enjoying her little sister. She likes to make Kara laugh, talk to her, and bring her toys when needed.

Kara is Three Months old today! She is doing good. You can see her beautiful blue eyes in this picture. Presley is still happy with her baby sister and Kara has recently started giggling. She's actually pretty ticklish. : )

With some help from Big Sister, we were able to take a couple of pictures for Kara's 2 month birthday.

She is now 10lbs, 14 ounces!

Swimmin' Pools, Movie Stars...

Well, things have been a bit busier at our house lately, but we did take time to take a swim this past weekend.
Presley loves being in the pool. She takes any opportunity she can get to go play in the water.

Even Kara took her first dip in the pool. She really seemed to like it!

Ahh...one more Super Cool girl in the family. You can never have too many!

One Month!

Happy One Month Birthday, Kara!
It's hard to believe it's been one month and yet some days it feels like it's been a whole lot longer! We are starting to get the hang of things. I can now calculate exactly how much caffeine it takes to keep up with a 2 and a half year old all day after being up all night with an infant. - And believe me, that's very important to know. : )
I would like to assume that I could now post more pictures more often, but we'll see how that all works out.
Kara and Presley are both doing great. Presley hasn't asked to send Kara back yet, so I feel like that's a good start. Kara hasn't quite learned how to sleep through Presley's little girl squeals, but she can sleep through most of the dog's barking. (One out of two's not bad.)
