Presley loves going to the park and we have been spending some quality time scouting out the best in our area. Here is a quick shot of her enjoying herself on one of the neighboring Elementary School playgrounds. : )

Happy Father's Day!

18 Months!

Today was Presley's HALF Birthday!

She's 18 months old! It's hard to believe that she is a year and a half. So what did we do for this momentous occasion? Why, we fed the ducks, of course!

We even saw a crane!

What can I say? The girl loves the ducks! She just walks around: "quack, quack. quack, quack". It's funny.

Then we tried to capture some big girl 18 month pictures, but she wasn't really into it. She's tired of looking at a camera lens, I think.

Then it was off to Temple for Father's Day where we caught some quick pics of this sweet bay-bee outside of the church. : )

Watering the Flowers

Apparently, keeping the flowers alive has something to do with giving them water. So we're trying that at our house for a while. Presley saw me watering the flowers and wanted to help out!

I love how the water just keeps spilling out everywhere while she carries the pitcher, and I'm sure there's only about half left by the time she gets to the tree. But she's so proud of herself and she's having such a great time! Who could fault her for that.

This is about the 10th bucket that the tree has had. You can tell by her soaked clothes. : )

Duck Season

We made another visit to the duck pond near our house. Now, last time we went was on a Saturday and the ducks were just moving from family to family out there at the park. This time, they were a little more forceful.
We were still probably 50 feet from the pond when a little family of ducks start waddling our way. We weren't throwing out bread or doing anything like that, but apparently they can spot a duck feeder from a mile away.
But it was cute. It was a mommy and 3 little babies. And who doesn't want to feed those cute little things. They came up to about a foot away from us and then waited for their handouts.
So we fed them.

And then another little family comes over to visit. And let me tell you, You may think that ducks are not fast, but these things were running at us at top speed.

So then three more big ducks come our way. And they're all looking for our bread. And then the 2 mommy ducks and the 3 newcomers start getting a little bit grouchy. I wound up picking Presley up and holding her for most of this because we had 11 ducks surrounding us all fighting for the food. The moms were particularly angry with anyone who tried to steal food from their babies. So they just kept running around snapping at eachother. It was crazy. I guess there's enough bread to go around on Saturdays cause they certainly didn't act like this then.

Then all of a sudden, it was like they all got their fill. (Which was good b/c we were soon out of bread) So they went back to the water.

So we walked out to one of the little piers and watched for more ducks and fish.

And those ducks came back again looking for some more.

Let's Go Fly a Kite!`

We got a new kite this weekend and Presley loved to watch it fly around. It wasn't the windiest day to be flying a kite, but we did manage to get it in the air a few times.

This is one of her favorite games. She can play this ten times in a row and not get dizzy. Me, I do it once and can't stand straight for 20 minutes.

Tuesday

Whether the calendar says it or not, we are starting summer at our house. Our days consist of going on walks to the park, "swimming" in the backyard pool, and playing with the dogs. Luckily, it really doesn't get much more complicated than that.

Part of the fun of being outside is chasing Riley. She isn't too excited yet about "Presley Hugs" (I'm sure she'll come around) and we all want what we can't have, so Riley just gets constantly chased around by a toddler. : )

Lots of times, the puddle that the pool makes after it's emptied is just as exciting (maybe even moreso) than the pool itself.

Neighborhood Park

We can hardly go on a walk anymore without stopping at our neighborhood park. If we turn the wrong direction (away from the park) she lets us know our mistake.
Lately she has been enjoying just walking along the structure. Then we sit down. Then we get up and walk/run along the structure again. It's hours of entertainment. : )


She will pat the ground beside her and say "Sit!"

Water Baby

Presley loves to go "swimming". Granted the pool is only two inches deep and a large bucket would probably give her more water, she loves it just the same!




She just recently learned how to splash, so that has been a big hit, too. It only takes a couple of these to convince Dakota to move a little further from the pool.

Is it a Table Skirt or a Magical Playhouse?

This is your typical cheap table skirt until you hang it in the entryway for your 17 month old to play with. She doesn't know that it's "just" a table skirt. She has had so much fun with these things. You can walk back and forth in between all the strings or lean over it or hide behind it or tear it down or read books and play games in the magical playhouse....the possibilities are endless!

It may seem small, but there is actually room for two adults, a toddler, and two 90lb dogs ---all at one time. There are not many other playhouses on the market these days that can give you that kind of space - and offer it all for under $5.
